Scientists
at the Low Mileage Art - Underhill Think Tank Division were
challenged to design a new product line that more accurately
depicts an idiosyncratic world upon which the following parameters
have been imposed: (1.) the world is flat; and (2.) the world
is contained within a quadrilateral space of variable, yet,
finite, dimensions of length and width. With their task thus
laid out an elite team of experts in disciplines that included
quantum mechanics, optics, perceptual psychology, industrial
engineering, advanced mathematics, and marketing were assembled
from around the world. What amounted to an underground city
of the world's most brilliant, creative minds (along with
their families) as well as all of the necessary technical
and ancillary service staff grew up virtually overnight in
a facility located 500 feet below the sprawling Low Mileage
Art Studio Complex on Cilley Hill Road. With levels of secrecy
that surpassed that of Manhattan Project, what came to be
called "The City of Dis" (which includes a particle
accelerator - 80 miles in circumference - a level 5 trauma
center, a hydroponic farm, a Flying J truck stop, an outlet
mall, a textile manufacturing sweatshop, and a Starbucks)
worked with fanatical, lock-stepped dedication toward the
completion of the project in a subterranean mini-metropolis
that was "hardened" to withstand a five megaton
surface detonation. The stylistic paradigm shift that was
revealed during the course of this project was code named
"Mr. Stripey" after the variegated tomato cultivar
that inspired it. Although scarcely a word of the above story
is verifiably true, (michael smith), CEO of Low Mileage Art,
is hopeful that these new paintings will be enjoyed nonetheless
by the viewing public. See these and as many other like-styled
pieces that can be completed in the next couple of weeks at
Union Station or right here on lowmileageart.com
